Late-night wandering students might be wondering why the doors between the Accolade East and Accolade West buildings as well as the Fine Arts Building have been closed at night for the past few weeks
According to Wallace Pidgeon of York media, the university has been locking the doors in between the two Accolade buildings and in the Fine Arts building at 11 p.m. every night for students’ safety.
He says this was done as a result of complaints that there were people walking in and out of the buildings at untimely hours.
“It’s just something that was thought to be the right thing to do,” says Pidgeon.
When asked about the students who use the longer detour to walk to the Village and now need to walk around the locked doors to get to their homes late at night, Pidgeon explains that goSAFE or the Village shuttle is always an option for students who must travel at night.
