For sports fans, students, and faculty members looking for more food options on campus, Shopsy’s Restaurant and Sports Grill is setting up shop in York lanes.
The new location is said to offer another unique food option to students on campus.
Gavin Quinn, a partner in the restaurant’s company in Toronto, says that this new location on campus would be opening in mid to late November.
“We are excited to serve the York University community,” says Quinn.“We also look forward to exceeding student expectations, hosting dates, and also connecting with the varsity and intramural sport teams on campus.”
Students can expect items such as burgers, sausages, smoked meat, and a wide selection of signature sandwiches. Vegetarian and Halal dishes will also be available.
The new York Lanes locations will also have nine 16” LCD televisions centred on sports; students can go and enjoy coverage of all local Toronto teams including soccer, hockey and football.
Quinn commented that prices would be student friendly, where the store would be offering snack items in the low digits, full entrees under $20, and a $10 mark for burgers and signature sandwiches.
The restaurant will be open all week, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner options including take out menus. Shopsy’s will also serve a selection of local and imported beers and wine, pending their liquor application being approved.
“We are very aware students are in a hurry, there would be lots of fast items. For people who would like to enjoy themselves and lounge, we would have nice menu items that would allow them to relax and enjoy themselves” says Quinn.
