Nuit Blanche came and went this year. With each exhibit thousands of “art lovers” coated the streets of downtown Toronto to see the sights and appreciate art. Living in today’s age – every exhibit was surrounded by a line of hands holding every breed of smartphone available.
Is this how we appreciate art? Does taking a photo of Ai Weiwei’s bicycle sculpture a way to immortalize the art forever, or just a new way to impress your friends.
With the masses that came out to this year’s Nuit Blanche – the good and the bad came with it. Every aspect of the city came out, to either appreciate art, or just to be seen by the art.
