Anecdoche is a student-curated art show in Eleanor Winters Art Gallery that seeks to portray the subconscious mind. The subconscious mind is not a concise concept, it is up for personal definition. Each artist does just that, portraying their own meanings and experiences of the subconscious through multimedia artwork.
The pieces portray notions of insomnia, dreams, heartache, and confusion. The title of the show, Anecdoche, is defined as a conversation where everyone is talking but no one is listening. The curators perceived this definition as being linked to the chaos and disorder that occurs in the subconscious mind.
The show points to the importance of exploring one’s subconscious so one can find release and better understand themselves.
