The men’s and women’s volleyball teams were on the road, taking on the the Brock Badgers and the McMaster Marauders on Saturday and Sunday.

Unfortunately for the Lions, it was a disappointing weekend, as they only managed to win one of the four games.

In the women’s game against Brock, the Lions lost the first set 25-19 but tied the game at 1-1 by winning the second set 25-21.

The Lions, however, succumbed to Brock in the third and fourth sets, losing 25-20 and 25-17, as Brock clinched the 3-1 victory.

The Lions men, in contrast, defeated Brock in three straight sets, winning 25-22, 25-17, and 25-21, respectively, as Andrew Tauhid led York with 13.5 points, six digs, and one assist.

On Sunday, the women lost again to the McMaster Marauders, this time in straight sets, losing 25-17, 25-19, and 25-16.

In the men’s game, the Lions took the first set 25-21. York, however, failed to maintain their momentum, losing the next three sets 25-18, 25-17 and 25-19, to fall to McMaster three sets to one.

The Lions’ next games are at home against the Western Mustangs on Saturday, and the Windsor Lancers on Sunday. The women play at 1 p.m. and the men at 3 p.m. on both days.
