“Ontario doesn’t need three new universities. We already have a ton. We have seven major universities as well as a bunch of colleges and practical schools, so it just doesn’t seem necessary. If anything, put that money into the existing ones to fund the students and prepare them better.”

“Maybe instead of adding universities, they should improve the ones they already have. Out of all the universities in Canada, Ontario has the best ones. Instead of building more universities, we [should] help our elementary schools because I hear they’re having larger class sizes, [and] they’re struggling for enough teachers.”

“Depends on what the discipline and the focus of those universities would be. We all know there is a shortage of doctors all around the province, if they maybe had one of those universities focus on health science or grad programs, [it would help] for sure, but I think we have more than enough undergraduate type programs.”

“I don’t really see the need for new universities. Investing in the ones that exist is a better idea. To me it’s all about improving what we already have and not opening new [universities].”
