The Lions men and women volleyball teams were in Kingston this weekend taking on Queen’s and RMC. It was a road trip that featured mixed results, as both teams split their games, losing to Queen’s, but beating RMC.
The women’s loss on Saturday was their first defeat of the season. York won the first set 25-23, but lost the next three sets to lose 3-1 to the Gaels.
In the men’s game, the Lions lost the first set 25-20, but fought back to win the second set 25-23. Queens, however took control of the rest of the game, winning the next two sets to defeat the Lions 3-1.
On Sunday, the Lions women returned to their winning ways against the RMC Paladins, and are now tied for first place in the OUA East with a 5-1 record. The Lions won the first set, but RMC won the second to tie the game 1-1. The Lions then won the next two to complete the 3-1 victory.
The men also defeated RMC on Sunday in three straight sets, and remain in the middle of the OUA East standings.
