Do trees choose their colours?
Do birds choose their feathers?
Do we choose our name?
Do we choose our ending?
Yet, we choose who to judge and who to break.
We find our faults but do not choose to correct them.
The leaves of every tree are different,
But they all fall together.
Every bird’s feathers are dissimilar,
But they all fly as one.
Yet, we humans can’t come together
Over colour
Over ethnicity
Over gender
Over sexuality
But in the end,
We all live in one world.
The sun shines on us all the same.
The rain falls on us all the same.
So why choose to be different
When we hear, touch, taste, smell, and see the same?
All colours are one,
And nothing can divide one.
We are the difference in change.
So, we can change the difference.
