I am a chameleon,
hidden amongst billions
despised by others for my gift to adapt
and to be assimilated and so
they call me a coward.
Defiant and bitter they remain the same colours,
vulnerable yet invulnerable.
Stubborn, they fight where they stay.
I remain safe, blending into the masses,
when danger comes my way.
And with a smile upon my face,
I embrace new environments and circumstance,
while constantly altering who I truly am,
for whichever colour I take on shall define me.
I am a chameleon
hidden amongst billions.
Cold-blooded reptile who shall only be seen or heard when I choose to be.
