The next five years of York University’s academic planning is fully open to student and faculty suggestions, and vice-president academic & provost Patrick Monahan is glad to see the number of student reactions.
An online survey is available for the 2010-2015 University Academic Plan (UAP), where student, faculty and staff opinions will be taken into account.
“We have a lot of responses already,” said Monahan. “Over 2,000 students have already responded to the survey.”
“The level of interest among students […] is very encouraging to me,” he said, adding the biggest challenge was to attract student interest and response.
“We thought this year, we would develop a survey to try to give a broader base of the community an opportunity to participate and get their voices heard about the UAP.”
The UAP includes plans to enhance research, student experience and campus growth among other notables.
“We’re going to share these results and comments,” said Monahan. “There’s literally hundreds and hundreds of comments. They’re instructive and positive, and make important suggestions.”
Those wishing to participate in the survey can fing it online at www.surveymonkey.com/s/ LVHQQZG.
