Europe might have something to teach Canada about copyright.
IP Osgoode hosted an international conference October 21 in Ottawa on European perspectives on copyright law in the information era. It was chaired by Professor Giuseppina D’Agostino, founder and director of IP Osgoode, the Intellectual Property Law and Technology Program at York’s Osgoode Law School.
The conference coincides with major changes in the Canadian copyright law. Minister of Canadian Heritage James Moore and Minister of Industry Christian Paradis announced on September 29th they will reintroduce the Copyright Modernization Act (Bill C-11).
