first year, law and society
“It would be helpful to have more people helping with course selection. When I came for my enrolment, I didn’t get the help I actually needed. Of the courses I took, I had to drop a couple of them because they weren’t prerequisites. Now I have to do summer school.”
fourth year, kinesiology
“I think York needs to implement much better options for healthy, affordable food on campus. I mean, a banana for a dollar, $7 or $8 for a salad; it’s way too much. It’s something we need here, and I think York needs to implement it soon.”
third year, accounting
“There’s too much traffic. With the construction blocking everything, there’s just nowhere for it all to go. They could have done a better job of planning it all out so we wouldn’t have such a delay here when coming in here.”
fifth year, kinesiology
“The desk in Vari Hall. Nobody really uses it. A lot of people believe it’s because when there was a protest a while ago, pro-Palestinians and pro-Israelis were there and it got heated, but that’s what you need. It promotes discussion and progress, but when you take away the student space to do that, you stifle the progressive atmosphere that made York famous.”
second year, international development
“There needs to be better direction in course enrolment. I mean, I’m in second year and it’s still really confusing. It’s really hard to tell what your prerequisites are and what you need to take.”
