Toronto police have charged a 19-year-old male with sexual assault after a female student reported being sexually assaulted in her bedroom in Calumet Residence early this morning.
Police say a group of students was gathered for a birthday party at the Keele campus student residence.
Following the party, an 18-year-old woman, also a York student, went to her bedroom and a man followed her, closed the door, turned off the lights, and allegedly sexually assaulted her, police say.
The alleged assault took place at 2:24 a.m on Friday, September 7.
The suspect was arrested and charged with one count of sexual assault.
He was scheduled to appear in court at 1000 Finch Avenue West Friday morning.
