Police nab campus wallet snatchers

Toronto police have arrested and charged three 15-year-olds and one 16-year-old in connection with an armed robbery reported in the Village just south of Keele campus.
According to the bulletin, the suspects were charged with robbery, armed robbery, two counts of failure to comply with recognizance, and possession of property obtained by crime.
York has yet to confirm whether the suspects are connected with any of the five other reported robberies since the beginning of Fall semester.
Moreover, it remains to be seen whether the initial suspect descriptions were accurate, with the original bulletin describing suspects as heavy and tall.
The robbery was originally reported in the Sentinel Road and Assiniboine Road area when a community member was approached by two suspects who struck the victim.
It was reported that when one of the suspects displayed a knife, the victim’s wallet was taken and minor injuries were reported.
At the time, York could not detail the nature of the injuries sustained.
This story will be updated as information becomes available.
