Arms divestment protest takes over the student centre

Chaos erupted on campus this afternoon when the Jewish Defence League showed up to counter the YU Divest demonstration, a motion to stop York from investing in weapons manufacturers.
Political science professor David McNally spoke at the protest, saying, “it is a scandal that this university or any other [university] profits off military [investments].”
The rally started as a silent protest in Vari Hall before moving to the Student Centre.
Senior security officials supervised the event and confirmed the presence of both uniformed and non-uniformed security officers.
Pro-Israel groups say the YU Divest campaign is Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions in disguise, a motion which targets Israel. The JDL sees the campaign as inherently anti-Israel and made their concerns known.
The JDL is not supported by pro-Israel and Jewish groups on campus. The JDL is labelled a terrorist group by the FBI in the United States and is banned in Israel.
When yelling matches ensued, police arrived on the scene.
Officer Ewan McDermott said everything went smoothly, urging people to move along and stop crowding around the escapades to see how the conflict would unfold.

The JDL is not listed as a terrorist group by the FBI, you idiots. Do some real research instead of propagating the bullshit you hear from BDS.
