York Lanes restaurant Taco Villa closed its doors Oct. 5 after its lease ended; the space is going to become a TTC information centre.
According to Bud Purves, president of the York University Development Corporation, the lessee from Taco Villa moved to another spot in York Lanes and opened z-teca, another Mexican fast-food spot. Purves noted that the TTC will soon use the old space to build an information centre to advise the York community on the subway construction over the next five years. “It will be an office for people to come and go, keep informed about when the subway construction starts, and find out more about road closures and anything like that,” he added.
