The Women’s Executive Network named Harriet Lewis, York University’s Secretary & General Counsel, one of the top powerful female leaders in Canada.
According to a Nov. 30 YFile article, the award recognized Lewis’ leadership role at York. Nominees for the award were judged on several criteria: corporate performance, management role, leader ship and vision and community service.
York president Mamdouh Shoukri told YFile that Lewis first came to York as a student and “then returned as the university’s counsel. She has guided York for more than 22 years, providing advice about legal matters and governance during a period of rapid growth.”
